A group of music-loving volunteers has organized the Troika Music Festival (formerly the Durham Music Festival) yearly since 2002. The goal each year is to celebrate in Durham’s burgeoning downtown area the vibrant independent music scene of the Durham–Chapel Hill–Raleigh area by featuring the area’s brightest musical acts as well as critically acclaimed acts visiting from elsewhere.
